Logo checker

Your logo has to work in a 56px square, next to forty others, on a light theme and a dark one. Drop it in and see which of those it fails.

Measured against the real 56px listing slot, on both themes. PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF up to 5MB.

  1. 01

    Drop your logo in

Nothing is uploaded anywhere. It is measured and discarded.

  2. 02

    Look at both themes

A white-on-transparent logo vanishes on one of them.

  3. 03

    Fix the shape

Most logo problems in a directory are shape, not quality.

Frequently asked questions

Why is it not a logo generator?

Because a generator without an image model produces clip art nobody ships, and one with a model is somebody else’s product with our name on it. Neither helps. The problem we actually watch happen every week is different: the logo a founder already has does not survive a listing row. That is measurable, and nobody measures it for them.

Where does 56px come from?

It is the icon slot in a listing row on this site, measured on 10 August 2026. A retina screen renders that at 112 real pixels, which is why anything with a short edge under 112px looks soft next to logos that are not.

Why does the shape matter so much?

The slot is square. A wordmark three times wider than it is tall gets letterboxed into a fraction of the height available, so it reads as smaller and weaker than every logo beside it — even when the artwork is better. Use the mark on its own and leave the name to the title next to it.

What is “dead padding”?

A small mark exported in the middle of a big transparent canvas. The padding is not ignored when we render it, it is drawn, so your logo appears at half the size of its neighbours. Crop it tight to the artwork and let the layout provide the spacing.

Why check both themes?

This site has a light theme and a dark one, and so do most places your logo will appear. A white mark on a transparent background looks perfect in a design tool on a dark canvas and disappears completely on white. Half your visitors would see an empty square.

Do you keep the file?

No. It is read from the temporary upload to measure it and never written anywhere. There is no logo table and no storage directory behind this tool.

Why is SVG not accepted?

An SVG is a script container as much as an image, and accepting arbitrary ones from strangers is a security problem rather than a feature. Export a PNG at 512px and check that.
