About AlphaShot
AlphaShot is a directory of products people actually use, ranked by the votes of the people using them. Makers list their product for free, the community upvotes and discusses it, and the best of each week and month win an award they can show on their own site.
Who it's for
People looking for their next tool come to see what others are genuinely using, browse by category, and read what makers say in the thread. Makers come to be found by exactly those people. Every listing is a permanent page at its own address — it doesn't expire when its launch week ends.
How the ranking works
Only signed-in members can vote, once per launch. Rankings measure attention inside a time window — trending counts the last 7 days, and there are monthly and all-time boards too — so a new product can reach the top without years of history behind it. The full rules are on how AlphaShot works.
What money can and can't buy
Listing a product is free, and stays free. Promotion is paid, always labelled, and never touches the ranking, the awards or the leaderboard: it buys a clearly marked position, never a vote. A board where money moved the numbers would be worthless to the people reading it and to the people advertising on it. See pricing for listings and advertising for sponsors.
Awards you can check
When a week or a month closes, the winners are recorded with their vote count frozen, so a result means the same thing a year later. Every award has a public verification page and a badge that links back to it, so nobody has to take a winner's word for it. Browse the awards.
Who runs it
AlphaShot is an independent directory, operated from the United States. A person reads every submission before it's published, and moderates by the listing guidelines. If you want to reach us — a question, a correction, a partnership — use the contact page and a person will answer.
